Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
EMG / EEG
Technician to perform diagnostic neurophysiological testing procedures including electroencephalograms (EEGs), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), evoked potentials, and related neurological assessments. The ideal candidate will work closely with neurologists and healthcare teams to ensure accurate patient testing, monitoring, and documentation while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. Key Responsibilities Prepare patients for EEG, EMG, NCS, and related neurodiagnostic procedures. Apply electrodes and monitoring equipment according to established protocols. Conduct routine and ambulatory EEG studies. Assist physicians during EMG and nerve conduction studies. Monitor patient responses and recognize abnormalities during testing. Ensure accurate recording, labeling, and documentation of test results. Maintain and calibrate neurodiagnostic equipment. Educate patients on procedures and answer questions to reduce anxiety. Follow infection control, HIPAA, and patient safety standards. Maintain patient records and upload reports into the EMR system. Participate in quality assurance and continuing education activities. Qualifications Required Completion of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program or equivalent experience. Experience performing EEG and/or EMG procedures. Knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Strong communication and patient-care skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Basic computer and EMR proficiency. Preferred Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) certification through ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation. EMG/NCS experience in a neurology or hospital setting. BLS/CPR certification. Associate degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology or related healthcare field. Schedule Full-time Split between our Columbia, MD and Germantown, MD locations. Salary Range Competitive compensation based on experience and certifications.
