Job Description

Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY
The EEG Technologist performs and oversees electroneurodiagnostic testing including EEGs and evoked potentials on infants, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients according to physician orders and departmental procedures. Performs training and clinical supervision of other neurodiagnostic personnel. Develops and updates the neurodiagnostic training program for Continuous Video EEG (CVE) monitoring for departmental staff.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. Performs testing procedures including EEGs, evoked potentials and CVE monitoring as assigned. 3. Performs training and clinical supervision of other electroneurodiagnostic personnel; develops, updates and maintains training program for CVE monitoring. 4. Prepares and adjusts daily work schedule to accommodate neurodiagnostic and CVE procedures as needed. 5. Maintains and cleans equipment including electrodes, EEG and evoked potential equipment. 6. Completes documentation thoroughly and accurately. 7. Corrects and reports equipment malfunctions; maintains a log of actions taken including notification of vendors when needed. 8. Performs mobile EEG services. 9. Maintains and performs appropriate storage of neurodiagnostic medical records.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalency required. Minimum of two (2) years post-high school coursework in science or math required. Bachelors degree preferred. Successful completion of Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist OR Registered Evoked Potential Technologist OR Certificate in Neurophysiological Monitoring credentials required.
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS
