ECG Technician PER DIEM Morristown

Performs electrocardiograms in a timely manner. Introduces self to patient and explains procedure to patient. Checks two patient identifications and ensures patient privacy. Eliminates all avoidable artifacts and maintains stable baseline in all twelve leads. Any abnormal findings inconsistent with previous findings must be communicated within thirty minutes of test completion. Cleans, stocks, and maintains EKG machines. Recognizes and reports any defective equipment. Reports any hazardous situations involving the safety and/or wellbeing of patients or staff members. Cleans and maintains EKG equipment utilized in isolation according to hospital infection control policy and procedure. Communicates with patients, family members, physicians and staff members in a pleasant and informative manner. Takes messages accurately and completely. Writes legibly and neatly. Organizes written communication in a logical way for format and content. Maintains a positive attitude, enhancing environment of teamwork and working with co-workers as a member of a unit. Accepts suggestions in a positive manner. Helpful to others in the department by getting work done. Motivated and enthusiastic regarding daily duties. Productive and organized at getting work done. Voluntarily seeks other duties when own duties are completed. Responds to change in department needs. Adapts and learns new procedures and duties. High School graduate, previous ECG experience and/or ECG certification preferred.
