401(k) matching Position Summary The EEG Technician is responsible for performing high-quality electroencephalogram (EEG) studies, including routine and extended video EEG monitoring, to assist in the diagnosis and management of neurological conditions. This role involves preparing patients, applying electrodes, monitoring recordings, and ensuring accurate data collection during both short-term and long-term studies. The EEG Technician works closely with neurologists and clinical staff to ensure patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established clinical protocols. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare pediatric patients for EEG testing in a calming, professional manner. Ensures comfort of patient. Applies suitable electrodes on predetermined measured positions based on the 10/20 system and checks impedance ensuring all electrodes are under 10k, but preferably 5k. Calibrate and adjusts

apparatus. Obtains the patient's cooperation for the best performance of these procedures. Select predetermined montages as well as special combinations made necessary by the case under study. Obtains standard recordings, recognizes artifacts throughout the duration of testing and takes appropriate steps to eliminate them, and troubleshoots as necessary. Describes all abnormal clinical manifestations observed during the test and reports to reading Neurologist. Implements and documents activating procedures (e.g., photic stimulation, hyperventilation, sleep protocols). Extracts relevant information from the patient's clinical record and obtains additional information for documentation prior to administering the EEG. Maintains a clean, organized, and functional workspace and maintains equipment in clean operating condition. Troubleshoots technical issues and performs minor equipment maintenance; escalate complex repairs as needed. Collaborate with neurologists, nurses, and administrative staff for optimal patient care. Performs other job & clerical duties as required. Always uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills & Competencies Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills Customer Service Excellence Problem Solving and Attention to Detail Multitasking and Time Management Proficiency with Scheduling Software and EMR Systems Ability to Perform Well in a Fast-Paced, Team-Oriented Environment Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of educational program for EEG technicians preferred. Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET) or equivalent preferred. Familiarity and practical experience with long term monitoring, routine video EEGs over 1hr, and ambulatory EEGs both 24hr and 48hr preferred. Experience with pediatric patients preferred Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and commitment to patient-centered care. Ability to work weekdays, nights or weekend days (Saturday or Sunday) as needed. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Standard office environment within a medical practice. Frequent use of computers and telephones. Occasional lifting of files, office supplies, or equipment (up to 20 lbs). PayScale:
