The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electroencephalograms (EEGs) to assess and monitor brain activity in patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, such as a Level I or Level II Trauma Center. The EEG Technician will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality diagnostic evaluations and patient care.

  • Duties Conduct EEG tests by placing electrodes on patients' scalps and ensuring proper setup for accurate readings.
Monitor patients during the procedure, ensuring their comfort and safety while collecting data. Analyze and interpret EEG results, documenting findings accurately for physician review. Maintain equipment and ensure it is functioning properly before each test. Educate patients about the EEG process, answering any questions they may have regarding the procedure. Collaborate with medical staff in emergency medicine settings to provide timely diagnostic evaluations. Stay updated on advancements in EEG technology and techniques to enhance patient care. Skills Proficient in medical terminology related to neurology and patient care. Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to understand brain functions and potential abnormalities. Ability to assess vital signs and recognize changes that may indicate patient distress. Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and procedures. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate data collection and documentation.
