Compensation Range:
$25.79 - $33.52 The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
Performs nerve conduction studies and assists physicians with EMG testing in a clinical setting. Performs complex technical assignments, which are broadly outlined, require theoretical insight and interpretation, and allow latitude for planning and modifying methods and techniques. Exercises a high degree of skill and judgment, and an understanding of the principles and methodology of the technical field. Involves patient care, affecting the well being, comfort and safety during uncomfortable procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares patient for study: Explanation, appropriate attire, clean and warm limbs. Performs electrodiagnostic studies under supervision in the EMG Laboratory at our 2 outpatient locations. Apply electrodes in their anatomically appropriate locations for recording studies. Does not perform US. Does not perform pediatric, in-patient, ICU or peds sedation studies. Understands eRecord and how to release EMG requisitions. Consults with the attending physicians, for strategizing appropriate studies. Preparation of first draft of EMG report and billing utilizing eRecord and the EMG database software. Performs other related tasks. For example, may perform special studies, oversee supplies and equipment, and operates computer entry terminals. Contributes to keeping the laboratory orderly and clean to assure a safe work environment and the highest quality of work performance.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Health Science or related field required Previous experience working in a medical/health care or related setting required Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Related laboratory experience required Understand eRecord and how to release EMG requisitions preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Willing to prepare for and take the Certification exam by the American Association of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (AAET) within 4 years required.
