We train career-focused healthcare professionals for national certification through hands-on, competency-based programs. We are hiring a part-time instructor to deliver our new EKG Technician Program, which prepares students to sit for the NHA Certified EKG Technician (CET) examination. The Role This is a part-time teaching position. You will deliver all classroom and clinical lab instruction for the EKG Technician Program across two sequential 2-week modules. A new cohort launches every 4-6 weeks.
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday:
4 hours/day, live online instruction (video conferencing)
Friday:
4 hours/day, in-person clinical lab at our Gardena campus 20 instructional hours per week during active cohorts What You Will Teach Module 1: Cardiac anatomy and electrophysiology, EKG machine operation, skin preparation, 12-lead electrode placement, full acquisition workflow, artifact identification and correction, heart rate calculation, interval measurement, sinus rhythm recognition, HIPAA, and EHR documentation Module 2: Full arrhythmia interpretation, AV blocks and pacemaker rhythms, ischemia and infarction recognition, Holter monitor application and patient education, stress test patient preparation, special population EKG modifications, and cardiac emergency response protocols Your Responsibilities Deliver live online instruction Monday-Thursday and in-person clinical lab every Friday Conduct competency sign-offs using the
MHCC EKG
Technician Competency Passport (22 competencies across both modules) Administer and grade the Module 1 Quiz and Module 2 Final Examination Certify student externship eligibility at the close of each cohort Maintain attendance and grade records and submit to the Program Director on schedule Prepare the clinical lab before each Friday session Required Qualifications Active national certification: NHA Certified EKG Technician (CET) required | CCI Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) preferred Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in cardiac diagnostic testing, including routine 12-lead EKG acquisition on live patients in an outpatient or hospital setting (required per BPPE instructor qualification standards) Hands-on experience with Holter monitor application and patient education Experience with stress test patient preparation and special population EKG modifications Comfortable delivering live instruction via video conferencing Reliable broadband internet and a professional remote setup for online teaching days
Preferred:
CCI CCT credential (covers EKG, Holter, and stress testing — aligns with full program scope) Candidates holding both NHA CET and CCI CCT are strongly preferred Prior teaching, training, or preceptor experience in a healthcare or vocational education setting
Pay:
$38.00 - $42.00 per hour
