Job Description
Where You'll Work St. Luke's Health - The Woodlands Hospital is a 245 bed facility serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. The hospital has been recognized as a Best Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, and is proud to serve as the clinical home for the Dan L Duncan Cancer Center. The hospital was awarded an "A" hospital safety grade by The Leapfrog Group in both 2023 and 2025. Clinical services provided include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women's services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level III nurseries), surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorder services. Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Vascular Technologist, you will perform non-invasive vascular diagnostic examinations to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities in arteries and veins.
Every day you will prepare patients, operate specialized ultrasound equipment to capture and evaluate high-quality images, and precisely document findings for physician interpretation.
To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in vascular ultrasound, a comprehensive understanding of vascular anatomy and pathology, and strong analytical and communication skills for accurate diagnostic information. Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance is performed and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards Actively Participates with patient testing, performing routine, non‐routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests Reviews the physician request to verify the type of diagnostic test requested and that the indication for the procedure is consistent Provide specific diagnostic test information to the patient ensuring that the patient is aware of the diagnostic test involvement and Provides patient education about the procedure Obtain patient history according to specific departmental procedural protocol Job Requirements Required Associates Other health related program in a related medicalfield, which include seminar course training in cardiacultrasound, upon hire or Associates Other and one year certificate, upon hire Registered Vascular Specialist, upon hire or Registered Vascular Technologist, upon hire or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire or Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
