JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Clinic Manager or Lead Physician, the Clinic EMT is responsible for providing direct patient care, assisting medical staff with procedures, and ensuring efficient clinical workflow within the outpatient setting. The Clinic EMT functions as a versatile member of the care team, bridging the gap between emergency response skills and daily clinic operations to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Yes Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists in the patient intake process by obtaining and recording vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints. Prepares exam rooms and clinical areas, ensuring all equipment is sanitized, stocked, and ready for patient use. Provides support during clinical procedures, including wound care, splinting, and minor surgical assistance as directed by providers. Responds promptly to medical emergencies within the clinic, providing Basic Life Support (BLS) and stabilizing patients until further assistance or transport arrives. Accurately documents patient encounters, interventions, and observations in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a timely manner. Coordinates with clinic staff and external emergency services to ensure seamless patient transfers when necessary. Maintains clinical equipment, performs daily inventory checks, and ensures all medical supplies are organized and within expiration dates. Communicates effectively with patients, providing instructions and answering questions with courtesy and patience. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Clinical Proficiency:
Strong knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols, patient assessment, and trauma/emergency interventions.
Service Orientation:
Dedicated to discovering and meeting the needs of patients, ensuring a compassionate and professional experience.
Organizational Skills:
Excellent time management and the ability to handle multiple clinical priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficient computer skills and experience with EMR systems.
Professionalism:
Possess a strong work ethic, high level of professionalism, and strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical protocols and medical instructions. Ability to effectively explain care procedures to patients and families.
Math Ability:
Ability to interpret diagnostic data (ratios, percentages) and assist in the accurate calculation of equipment settings or basic medication dosages under provider direction.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve clinical problems, recognize when to escalate care to a physician, and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Teamwork/Service/Growth:
Strong commitment to collaborative care, a focus on meeting patient/customer needs, and a drive for continuous professional learning.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Current, valid State and/or National Registry EMT certification required. BLS/CPR certification for Healthcare Providers required. 1-2+ years of experience in a clinical or emergency medical setting preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the clinic. Requires good dexterity and range of motion to perform clinical procedures and frequent operation of medical equipment. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and maneuver patients and equipment, including lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
