Saint Mary's Hospital EMS Torrington Site PER DIEMWe are looking for dedicated Paramedics who embrace our core values to come join our team and assist us in continuing to provide quality care for our local communities.

You would be responsible to administer pre-hospital emergency care and other forms of related health care, education and medical transportation. Administers Advanced Life Support. Responsible for clinical oversight of all emergency and non-emergency incidents their response unit is assigned to including the appropriate direction of EMT staff and choreography of co-responders in the absence of an EMS Supervisor. Works as a member of an emergency medical team. Exhibits courteous and professional behavior while interacting with co-workers, patients, families, health care professionals, and public safety personnel.

What will you do: Interacts on a professional level with patients, families, hospital staff, general public and other public safety agencies, providing exemplary care and customer service at all times. Transports sick and/or injured patients to or between appropriate medical facilities and/or residence. Safely operates and assists in the maintenance of company owned vehicles as required. Performs daily vehicle maintenance check and cleans both the inside and outside of assigned unit on a daily basis. Replenishes medical equipment and supplies as needed. Monitors and properly operates all communications equipment to ensure efficient, constant, and appropriate contact with the communications department. Responds to all requests for service in an optimal manner and the priority of response when directed by the dispatcher. Works expediently to ensure availability of resources in order to maximize utilization and productivity. Assists in performing routine housekeeping tasks in and around the building/station. Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental safety programs. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of local geography to assist in efficient transportation of patients. Completes all Patient Care Reports inclusive of insurance data in an accurate manner and submits them prior to the close of their shift. Completes all shift related checklists and paperwork as required.
Work Hours/Shift:
Per Diem, Rotating Shifts Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma and completion of an accredited Paramedic program. Current Paramedic CT license in good standing, BLS, ACLS, PALS, valid driver's license, driving record clear of violations. Must have the ability to think and act calmly in emergency situations.
