Job Description
Summary:
The primary duty of a Paramedic at Trident EMS is to treat and transport patients entrusted to their care. Coordinating with the Dispatch Team, they respond to both Emergency and Non-Emergency requests prioritizing patient care, communicating effectively, documenting thoroughly, and providing meticulous medical treatment with a strong emphasis on patient safety.Essential Functions:
- Provides both Emergency and Non-Emergency medical transportation
- Exhibits exceptional judgment and prioritizes public safety while operating and positioning the ambulance unit
- Employs suitable techniques, resources, and equipment to diagnose and treat patients
- Oversees patient assessment, packaging, and transportation
- Completes accurate medical records and transportation reports
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current standards of care, including equipment functionality and usage
- Adheres to safety standards
- Prioritizes the well-being of themselves, medical personnel, patients, and equipment.
- Establishes positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS Representatives, hospitals, and the public
- Maintains cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the ambulance unit and equipment after each response
- Ensures proper Vehicle Maintenance and Supply Levels at all times
- Reports any equipment damage or malfunctions promptly
- In addition to their operational duties, the Paramedic (PMD) fulfills all station responsibilities and maintains the crew quarters in a tidy condition.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to pass physical evaluation, including lifting 125 lbs.
- High school diploma or general educations degree (GED)
- Must be able to communicate and understand written & conversational
English Licensure and Certifications:
- Valid Florida State Licensure, Department of Health as a Paramedic or NREMT
- Valid Class "E" Florida Driver's license
- Basic life support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider
- Advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS)
Certification Preferred:
- Critical Care Paramedic Certificate
- Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) or Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)
