This position is responsible for responding to scenes and facilities to respectfully transport decedents to coroner/medical examiner offices, funeral homes, or other designated locations. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and respect.

Responsibilities:

Respond to residences, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other locations to transport decedents. Safely and respectfully handle and transport bagged decedents using proper equipment and procedures. Follow chain-of-custody and documentation requirements. Communicate professionally with law enforcement, coroners, medical staff, and funeral home personnel. Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport vehicles and equipment. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and company protocols. Participate in on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:

Clean driving record (required). Must pass background check (required). Ability to lift, move, and transport decedents with assistance and proper equipment. Comfortable working in sensitive environments and around deceased individuals. Strong professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail. Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Ability to work independently and respond to calls as needed. Prior experience in mortuary transport, healthcare, EMS, or related field is a plus (not required).
