About the
The right candidates must:
Be at least 18 years oldHave proof of a HS diploma or GEDValid Driver's LicenseHave all required immunizationsSuccessfully complete the pre-employment screening which includes motor vehicle and criminal background checks, drug testing and a physical agility testWhat happens after passing the course?
After successful completion of the course, the employee will be required to pass the EMT National Registry and local area protocols exam. Upon successful completion, the employee will be required to work for AMR-Grand Rapids for a period of at least one full year and assigned their full-time shift, along with completing new employee training.
They will also qualify for benefits including:
Excellent benefit package including medical, dental, life, vision, disability and 401(k) plan with company matchPaid Time Off (PTO) hoursOpportunities for professional growthResponse to nationwide disastersImmunization RequirementsYou must obtain the listed immunizations or have current written records of immunizations and submit verification (readable copies) for each of the applicable immunizations to our office no later than the start of the class. Include the name of the facility and practitioner, official seal, stamp or log of the facility/practitioner and date of the immunizations. Please be sure to make copies of your immunization records. Originals will not be returned

About the
Program:
The eligible candidate will be hired as an employee and compensated a training wage while in attendance at EMT Academy at AMR-Grand Rapids. The Academy is a rigorous eight-week program which qualifies the employee to take the EMT National Registry and local area protocols exam. There is no cost for the class and all books, tuition, fees, and uniforms will be paid by AMR Grand Rapids. The class schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm with the occasional weekend clinical. Upon successful completion of the class, all tests and state certification, the employee will be transferred to an EMT position with an increase to the EMT compensation rate.The right candidates must:

- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- positive titer Only

- Hepatitis B
- positive titer Only
- within the last 5 years
- Chicken pox (Varicella)
- positive titer Only
- within the last 5 years
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (TDAP)
- proof of immunization
- within the last 5 years
- Meningitis vaccination
- proof of immunization
- within the last 5 years
- TB/PPD
- negative TB/PPD skin test within the last 3 months
- Influenza vaccination
