Onsite Medical Representative (Edison, NJ) Job Description The Onsite Medical Representative supports a safe and healthy workplace by providing first aid, injury and illness assessment, and health guidance to employees in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with site leadership, safety professionals, and health and injury prevention partners, this role helps set and maintain high standards for workplace health and safety. The Onsite Medical Representative independently evaluates occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses, offers appropriate care and referrals, and actively promotes health and wellness principles. This position also contributes to safety operations, onboarding of new employees, and ongoing case management to reduce risk and support a strong safety culture. Responsibilities Independently assess and administer first aid to employees for both occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses. Provide guidance and education to employees on health, wellness, and injury prevention principles on a daily basis. Refer employees to outside medical providers when necessary and appropriate. Develop and maintain working knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk factors, and workplace injury analysis. Collaborate with site leadership, safety professionals, and health and injury prevention partners to support overall safety initiatives. Attend regular safety committee meetings and contribute to discussions on workplace health and safety. Support onboarding of new employees through safety and health orientation sessions and one-on-one interactions. Participate in periodic case management review meetings related to work-related injuries and return-to-work planning. Reduce the risk of injury through proactive employee education, awareness campaigns, and engagement in safe work practices. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records of all care and services provided. Coordinate and support workers' compensation and return-to-work programs for employees with work-related injuries. Complete daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports to document services, trends, and key observations. Engage with employees and leadership to provide coaching on observed at-risk work behaviors and recommend safer alternatives. Maintain a clean, organized medical workspace and manage appropriate medical supply inventory. Participate in required training and certification programs related to First Aid, CPR, and AED, and maintain all required credentials. Assist with drug and alcohol testing protocols, where applicable and in accordance with site requirements. Support emergency response efforts and maintain effective care delivery during emergency situations. Work flexible schedules, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed to support site operations. Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 49 pounds and frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching as required by the role. Stand and/or walk for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift, in support of onsite medical and safety needs. Work in environments with variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions, including both indoor and outdoor areas. Climb and descend stairs as needed to access different areas of the site. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) provider. Current, valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from the Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Ability to independently assess and administer first aid for a wide range of injuries and illnesses. Ability to maintain accurate, confidential medical and incident records. Capability to lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift. Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends. Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings. Ability to climb and descend stairs as required by the site. Willingness to obtain Adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks of the start date if not already held. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certified instructor for First Aid, CPR, and AED through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital documentation tools. Experience supporting employee health programs in industrial, manufacturing, or corporate environments. Experience managing musculoskeletal injuries and ergonomics, including coaching on safe body mechanics. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation processes. Experience with electronic medical or incident record systems. Recent military medical experience, such as Combat Medic, Corpsman, or Aerospace Medical Service Technician. Strong communication skills with the ability to coach employees and partner effectively with leadership. Demonstrated ability to stay calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations. Work Environment This role is based onsite in Edison, NJ, within a dynamic industrial or logistics environment where employee safety and well-being are top priorities. The position requires frequent movement throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and working in both indoor and outdoor areas with variable temperatures, weather conditions, and noise levels. The Onsite Medical Representative will work in a dedicated medical workspace that must be kept clean, organized, and properly stocked with medical supplies. The role involves extended periods of standing and walking, as well as occasional lifting of up to 49 pounds and regular bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling. Training typically follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to start. After training, the primary shift is most likely a BHN schedule, working Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. The environment emphasizes collaboration with safety teams and site leadership, ongoing professional development through certifications and training, and a strong culture of proactive safety, health promotion, and emergency readiness. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Edison, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
