Job Description

North Shore Youth Council, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community-based organization, is seeking an energetic licensed and experienced, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to work as a Camp Health Director in our half-day summer camp program for children entering kindergarten through seventh grade, located in Mt. Sinai. The Camp Health Director is responsible for carrying out all first aid, supervision of medications and confidential health histories, and addressing any medical concerns with staff and campers.
Responsibilities include:
  • Supervising health and sanitation at camp
  • Maintaining confidential medical histories of campers and counselors
  • Overseeing initial health screening of campers and daily health surveillance
  • Provide first aid to campers and counselors
  • Handling health emergencies and injuries, including emergency preparedness and provisions for professional health care
  • Maintaining camp's daily medical log
  • Ensuring issues and injuries are handled and recorded in a timely manner
  • Reporting required incidents to local health department within 24 hours
  • Supervising AM drop-off and PM pick-up procedures
  • Acting in accordance with North Shore Youth Council, Suffolk County, and State of New York guidelines, protocols, and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Camp Director EMT must have a positive attitude and good judgment, provide credentials/certifications, and submit to a background check.
Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM, July 8th thru August 9th. Qualified individuals interested in being a part of our fun summer program, please submit cover letter and resume.
