Part-time We are looking for an experienced, licensed Paramedic to join our community-based care team in the Richmond, VA area.
In this role, you will travel to patients' homes to deliver urgent and acute in-home health care services under provider direction, helping our senior patients stay safe and healthy at home and out of the emergency room. You will work closely with our after-hours virtual care team. When a telehealth provider determines a patient needs in-person attention, you are deployed to assess and stabilize the patient at home, with the goal of bringing them into the clinic the following business day.
Schedule & Location Part-time:
20 hours per week, flexible scheduling Primarily Monday-Friday during standard business hours One weekend shift per month (10 AM-8 PM or 8 AM-8 PM) Service area: Shockoe Bottom, Mechanicsville, and Hull Street (Richmond, VA) Work from home if you can reach patients within 30 minutes; otherwise, deploy from Shockoe Bottom Medical Center. You will use your own vehicle and receive a $250 monthly car allowance Key Responsibilities Conduct advanced in-home health assessments with senior patients under provider guidance Administer medications including IM and IV; change dressings; perform phlebotomy and lab specimen collection Prepare patients for virtual examinations; record vitals, EKGs, and relevant clinical data Communicate health updates to the virtual care team and help execute care plans Quickly assess whether a patient requires emergency transport or can be safely managed at home Accurately document all clinical encounters in the electronic health record Coordinate with EMS and emergency department personnel when necessary Report cases of neglect or abuse to appropriate authorities Educate patients on available aging and community resources Requirements Current, unrestricted Paramedic license (Virginia) Minimum 1 year of experience as a Paramedic (5-10 years strongly preferred) Experience in EMS and/or Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) BLS and ALS certifications required Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle Must reside in or near the Richmond, VA area Community Paramedic Certification (CP-C) required within 18 months of hire Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Compensation & Benefits $28
