Job Summary In a collaborative manner, the Paramedic provides support to Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include front desk registration, vital sign collection, medical history intake, point-of-care testing, medication administration, and assisting with in-office procedures. Essential Functions Create and maintain a welcoming environment for patients through exceptional customer service. Verify insurance information and collect/process co-payments and deductibles. Schedule patient appointments and coordinate provider referrals. Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality through accurate medical recordkeeping and coding. Conduct patient interviews, record medical history, and confirm visit purpose. Prepare patients for exams by performing vital signs and reporting history summaries. Assist providers with evaluations and in-office procedures; notify providers of abnormal findings. Perform point-of-care testing for various conditions; conduct phlebotomy, wound care, and EKGs. Administer medications per protocols approved by the local Medical Director. Prepare for procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal. Perform IV catheter insertion, fluid administration, splinting, and venipuncture. Perform BLS emergency care and manage environmental emergencies. Conduct daily equipment checks, calibrations, and submit repair tickets. Perform courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated competency in EKG testing and venipuncture Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures Excellent time management and multitasking skills Strong written and verbal communication Social perceptiveness and service orientation Organizational and planning skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management software Preferred Skills Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Experience with Point-of-Care Testing Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Understanding of HIPAA compliance
