Our Emergency Vehicle Operators (EVOs) play a vital role in delivering that mission—safely and reliably transporting patients and supporting EMS professionals in the field.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a safety-conscious and reliable Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) to join our Mobile Healthcare team. The EVO is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of ambulances and emergency response vehicles during both emergency and non-emergency transports. In this role, you will work closely with EMTs and paramedics to ensure patient safety, comfort, and timely service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate emergency vehicles during emergency responses, interfacility transfers, and non-emergency transports. Drive using best practices for emergency vehicle operation, following all local, state, and federal traffic laws. Assist with the loading and unloading of patients, stretchers, and medical equipment. Conduct thorough daily vehicle inspections, checking fluid levels, lights, tires, and safety equipment. Ensure vehicles are stocked, clean, and fully operational at the beginning and end of each shift. Support EMS crew members with on-scene logistics and safety duties when necessary. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, EMS personnel, and healthcare facilities. Complete all required documentation and maintenance reports accurately and promptly. Uphold all HIPAA, safety, and infection control protocols.
Working Conditions:
May work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions and weather. Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license for 3 or more years with an acceptable driving record. Current EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) certification. CPR/First Aid certification required. Prior experience operating emergency vehicles, working in EMS, or healthcare transportation preferred. Strong knowledge of local roadways, GPS systems, and safe driving techniques. Excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills. Ability to work under pressure, respond quickly, and remain calm in high-stress environments. Must meet the physical requirements of lifting and assisting patients and equipment. (125 pounds individually and 250 assisted) Must be 21 years of age or older
