  • Temporary Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dependable Camp Healthcare Providers to support the health, wellness, and emotional well-being of campers and staff in a positive camp environment.
These roles are centered on creating a caring, calm, and supportive space where children feel safe, comforted, and encouraged throughout their camp experience. Our healthcare team cares for common childhood concerns such as homesickness, minor injuries, tummy aches, bug bites, scrapes, and everyday illnesses, while also being prepared to respond appropriately to more serious medical situations when needed. Ideal candidates bring strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a warm, reassuring presence when working with children and families. This is not a high-intensity emergency medicine environment; rather, it is a community-focused role built around prevention, compassion, and thoughtful assessment. The ability to recognize when a camper requires a higher level of care and coordinate with families, pediatricians, urgent care, or emergency services is essential. Responsibilities Provide basic healthcare support and first aid for campers and staff, including treatment of minor injuries and common childhood illnesses. Support campers experiencing homesickness, anxiety, emotional distress, or adjustment challenges with patience, empathy, and encouragement. Assess health concerns and determine appropriate next steps, including when outside medical evaluation or emergency care may be necessary. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with camp policies and healthcare protocols. Maintain accurate and organized health records, medication logs, and incident documentation. Communicate clearly and professionally with camp leadership, families, and healthcare providers regarding camper health needs. Promote a healthy, safe, and nurturing camp environment through preventative care and wellness education. Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations and coordinate emergency services when required. Work collaboratively with fellow healthcare staff and camp leadership to support overall camper well-being. Help ensure the health center remains organized, stocked, and welcoming for campers. Qualifications & Experience Background in nursing, emergency medical services, healthcare, school health, pediatrics, or a related field preferred. Experience working with children, adolescents, families, or camp/school communities is highly valued. Current RN, LPN, EMT, Paramedic, or other relevant healthcare certification/license preferred. Nursing Students are welcome to apply. Strong assessment and triage skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a camp setting. Comfortable managing minor medical concerns independently while recognizing when escalation of care is appropriate. Excellent interpersonal skills with a calm, caring, and team-oriented approach. Current CPR/First Aid certification required. Valid driver's license preferred. Why Join Our Camp Community? We offer a flexible schedule that can work around all other areas of your work / home life. Come for a day here and there, a week at a time or cover night shifts. Lots of options available. These roles offer the opportunity to combine healthcare skills with meaningful relationship-building in an outdoor, child-centered environment. As part of a collaborative camp healthcare team, you will play an important role in helping campers feel supported, cared for, and confident while creating memorable camp experiences in a welcoming and inclusive community.
