Job Description

'Company Overview' Roane General Hospital in Spencer, WV a 60 bed Critical Access Hospital with 35 SNF/ICF beds, 25 acute care beds, Level IV Trauma Emergency Department, three Rural Health Clinics and a walk-in clinic is currently seeking applicants for a Full-Time Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator.
SUMMARY:
A CEVO (Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator) is an entry level position. Current EVO certification from the state of West Virginia is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist partner in vehicle checks and making sure the vehicle is ready for a response. Drives ambulance safely to and from scenes while adhering to traffic regulations and safety guidelines, ensuring the safety of crew and patients. Operates ambulance to and from scene, obeying RGH vehicle operation SOP. Ensure that vehicle is cleaned, fueled, restocked and ready for next transport, or oncoming crew. Participates in educational programs as requested, including but not limited to mandatory in-services and scheduled RGAS meetings. Ensures that all posted vehicle duties are completed. Complete daily vehicle check-offs and document in ESO. Report any failures in check-off to the Director of the Emergency Department. Assist EMTs or paramedics with moving, lifting and loading patients via stretchers or wheelchairs. Utilizes radio communication appropriately when required. Accurately complete electronic patient records and trip logs. Must be completed by the end of your shift. Works in the Emergency Department as part of the regularly scheduled shift as assigned to perform the following duties: Transports patients into the department Obtains vital signs, height and weight Obtainment and documentation of routine vital signs Reports changes in vital signs or patient condition to ED RN or LPN, and/or ED physician Assist with cardiac arrest and trauma calls in assigned role (scribe/supply runner) Transport specimens to lab Prepares and compiles records Relays interdepartmental clinical information promptly and accurately Answers the telephone utilizing appropriate etiquette Performs duties and skills in accordance with hospital competency and policy. Additional duties as assigned.
