This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a Level I Trauma Center, providing life-saving care and making a real difference in patients' lives every day. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and initial triage evaluations to prioritize care needs effectively. Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, suturing, and medication administration following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols. Manage airway emergencies using ventilators and oxygen therapy, ensuring optimal respiratory support for critically ill patients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for trauma, cardiac events, infectious diseases, and other urgent conditions. Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, CT scans, sonography, and other imaging procedures. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during stressful emergency situations while coordinating discharge planning when appropriate. Skills Proven experience in emergency medicine or trauma medicine within a Level I or Level II trauma center setting. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to acute care scenarios. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9). Skilled in performing advanced procedures including IV insertion, venipuncture, catheterization (urinary and central lines), suturing, and sterile processing techniques. Familiarity with critical care equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps; experience with ICU or PICU settings is highly desirable. Ability to perform rapid patient assessments under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in high-stakes environments.
