POSITION SUMMARY
The ED Care Technician is responsible for application and removal of casts including complex casting and orthopedic splints and devices in the Emergency Department in addition to providing basic care to patients. This includes taking vital signs, performing EKGs and cardiac monitoring, phlebotomy, bedside lab testing, CLIA and assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection including assisting with pelvic exams, basic respiratory therapy, wound care, performing CPR and observing patients for physical/emotional changes. Duties also include transporting patients on stretcher or by wheelchair to other departments, stocking supplies and housekeeping duties. Qualifications
