The role involves performing clinical tasks, assisting with procedures, transporting patients and ensuring a clean and safe environment. The ED tech will also be required to stock, clean rooms and help with any patient care that is within their scope of practice. The ED technician must have good communication skills and be flexible with assignments. The mid-shift tech helps transition from the day shift to the night shift to help the flow of the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of Department of Nursing Orientation. Successful completion of Emergency Department Tech orientation with ED educator and completion of a skills' checklist with ED Tech preceptor. Completion of an EMT or Nurse Aide Course (nursing school, medical school, previous hospital or military experience may substitute for this requirement) (preferred).
