As Needed (United States of America) Hendricks Community Hospital Association is seeking a qualified individual to join our team! Position Highlights
QUALIFICATIONS
High school degree, preferred. EMT Licensure and CPR certification. Must possess verbal and written communication skills to understand and interpret instructions, communicate with supervisor, medical and nursing staff, patients, and families. Should be able to use common sense and be a fair judge of character. Good leadership, initiative, and judgment skills. Ability to respond to critical situations in a professional and competent manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS
: Moderate to heavy physical work. Near visual acuity for performing nursing care. Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain emotional stability under stress. Flexibility to handle changing situations and emergency needs. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for basic emergency care and treatment from scene of call and en route to hospital Responsible for communicating all pertinent information pertaining to the ambulance call to the charge nurse and/or attending physician. Knowledge of emergency care equipment and where it is located in the ambulance as well as in the E.R. Able to treat the patient in shock using MAST trousers. Able to operate an emergency vehicle safely under stressful situations. Attends monthly meetings of EMT's. Responsible for maintaining ambulance during his/her shift, which includes cleaning, stocking, and monitoring equipment. Assist ER nursing personnel with ambulance patients. Maintain positive working relationships with non-hospital departments such as law enforcement. Assists emergency room nurse and physician in ER as directed by the ER nurse or the attending physician when needed. Apply aseptic technique in patient care.
