Job Description

Overview:
FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a nationally recognized health care system located in central North Carolina. As a member of the Emergency Medical Services team, the Emergency Room Technician provides direct and indirect patient care through protocols set by FirstHealth of Carolina to maintain safe and effective patient flow in the Emergency Room. The Emergency Room Technicians works under the supervision of the Emergency Room Charge Nurse and the medical direction of the ER Physician, and is accountable for providing care within established standards of practice. The ER Technician maintains required certifications and skills by participation in continuing education, practical skills testing, and the re-certification processes set by the state of North Carolina and FirstHealth.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two -year college or technical school and at least one (1) year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Current North Carolina Emergency Medical Services Paramedic certification/licensure is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Current AHA Advanced Life Support (ACLS). AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or current North Carolinas Advance EMT (AEMT) with current certification in BCLS, BTLS, PHTLS, and ACLS.
