Responsible for rendering technical patient care and assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Treatment rooms and the storeroom are appropriately stocked with supplies to ensure prompt patient treatment. Comprehensive Emergency Services:

UVA Health's Emergency Department is a 75-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. As a regional referral center, the UVA ED sees patients from throughout Virginia, as well as from West Virginia and Tennessee. This department cares for complex patients throughout the age spectrum. Minimum Qualifications Education:

High School Graduate or Equivalent Experience:

Licensure/Certifications:

Must be State Certified as one of the following:

EMT-B EMT-C

EMT-ST or EMT-P. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Physical Demands Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, humidity, cold, heat, radiation, outdoor climate, blood/body fluids, infectious disease, noise and dust. Onboarding Requirements Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen. The starting base rate for this role is $16.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
