Job Description

Responsible for rendering technical patient care and assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Treatment rooms and the storeroom are appropriately stocked with supplies to ensure prompt patient treatment. Comprehensive Emergency Services:
UVA Health's Emergency Department is a 75-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. As a regional referral center, the UVA ED sees patients from throughout Virginia, as well as from West Virginia and Tennessee. This department cares for complex patients throughout the age spectrum. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent Experience:
No experience required
Licensure:
American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification required. For Non-Certified team members hired prior to May 11, 2026, certification is not required , as relevant experience will be accepted in its place. Must have one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia Emergency Medical Technician in the Commonwealth of Virginia Military Corpsmen/Medic ( Combat Medic Specialist / Tactical Combat Casualty Care / Tactical Paramedic ) NREMT certification or Tactical Responder Certification LPN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia Graduate of a certified nursing program P atient C are T echnician Certification , preferred National Center of Competency Testing Currently enrolled student nurses who have successfully completed the Clinical Experience and Didactic

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only) . Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only) . May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $16.37 - $23.36 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
