Job Description

The Pain Management Technician provides support for physicians and RN's throughout pain procedures by preparing, providing and caring for instruments and equipment, and maintaining a sterile field. Other duties may include floating to PACU Nerve Block area to assist RN with sterile tray set up for nerve block procedures or assisting in a Patient Care Technician role in Pre/Post Department. Minimum Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Licenses and Certifications BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of pain procedures, instruments, equipment and supply management and decontamination of equipment with demonstrated competency. Ability to read and understand the English Language Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow through skills required. Knowledge of Aseptic technique. Ability to wear lead apron protection. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of pain management and procedures and equipment. Performs all responsibilities/duties required as defined in the scope of service, to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed. Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development. Maintains supplies/inventory for department. Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the Pain Management department as defined in the scope of service to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed. Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
