Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) Previous Clinical Care Technician (CCT) experience requiredPreferred:
SGNA GI Technical Specialist Certification preferredScheduling Requirements:
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week).Essential Functions:
Applies clinical knowledge and technical skills to assist during Endoscopy procedures under the direction of the physician or RN Reviews planned cases and ensures all necessary equipment and devices are available on the unit Sets up required equipment in anticipation of cases Assists with room turnover, breaking down room and cleaning endoscopy equipment in accordance with infection control guidelines and manufacturer instructions for use Oversees the care, handling and maintenance of endoscopy equipment Troubleshoots basic technical problems with equipment and initiates repairs as needed Maintains knowledge of current manufacturer s guidelines Accurately performs the following tasks according to RWJUH policy and procedure, reporting results to RN immediately: Vital signs inclusive of BP, HR, RR, temp and SP02 Blood glucose 12 lead EKG and application of cardiac monitor Discontinuation of IV therapy Obtains blood, urine, stool, or other body fluid specimens At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees' physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
