1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel Endoscopy Technician with 2+ years of endoscopy experience for a day-shift position at an acute care hospital in Las Cruces, NM. Details Work in a dedicated Endoscopy unit at an acute care hospital in Las Cruces, NM Day shifts, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday On-call rotation required: one full week at a time, covering 3:00 PM-6:30 AM on weekdays and 7:00 AM-7:00 AM on weekends Averages 15-18 cases per day, with 7-8 cases on Saturdays 1:1 patient ratio Advanced endoscopic procedures performed include complex ERCPs, SPYGlass cholangioscopy, EUS-guided interventions, endosuturing, ESD, POEM, double balloon enteroscopy, and more Uses Medhost and
PICIS EMR
systems No floating required 13-week contract Requirements Minimum 2 years of endoscopy technician experience required BLS certification required (AHA, ARC, or ASHI accepted) GI certification or
CST/CORST
certification preferred CMA (AAMA), CNA, or CPCT certification preferred Experience assisting with complex ERCP and EUS-guided procedures preferred Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months License required if applicable Additional Information Prepare procedure rooms and ensure proper setup of equipment, instruments, and supplies prior to each procedure Serve as primary assistant to the physician during advanced endoscopic procedures, anticipating needs and supporting patient positioning Perform high-level disinfection, decontamination, and leak testing of endoscopes and related equipment per manufacturer guidelines and facility policy Handle, label, and document specimens and cultures accurately in accordance with policy Maintain inventory of supplies and quality control documentation for decontamination and equipment maintenance May serve as a trainer or preceptor for peers learning advanced procedures Any color scrubs are acceptable RTO requests must be for less than one week Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
