Job Description

Our employees work in a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgical Center. The Endoscopy Technician is directly responsible to the GI physician, Endoscopy RN, or the RN Supervisor of the area that they are assigned. We are currently filling vacancies at our Reno Centers located at 10619 Professional Circle and 880 Ryland Street. The Endoscopy Technician works as a scrub assistant to the physician during all non-invasive endoscopy procedures. At the direction of the GI Physician or RN they perform all GI procedures including, but not limited to: Biopsy Injections Specimen acquisition labeling, and handling etc. The Endoscopy Technician is also responsible for insuring safe transportation, handling, disinfection, sterilization and maintenance of the Flexible Endoscopes, and the Automated Reprocessing devices. This is an ongoing process of education and updating current practices following the manufacturer's suggested guidelines, and recommendations of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA), AAAHC, and the Centers of Disease Control (CDC). The Endoscopy Technician ensures procedure room is ready with needed supplies, endoscopy devices, and equipment before the patient enters. They confirm integrity and appropriate preparation of all sterile items before opening and again while preparing aseptic/ sterile field. Ideal candidates should have at least 1-2 years of previous experience as a CNA, MA, Monitor Tech, Phlebotomy, EMT or Paramedic in an acute patient care setting or hospital, ambulance experience, and/or have previous gastroenterology experience. Must have current BLS card. Excellent computer and people skills are required as well.
Required Qualifications:
1-2 years of critical or acute care experience as CNA, MA, Monitor Tech, Phlebotomy, EMT or Paramedic GI Consultants is an equal opportunity employer.
