Job Description

Overview The Gastroenterology Technician plays a vital role in supporting gastroenterology procedures and patient care within a clinical setting. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is knowledgeable in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. The technician will assist healthcare professionals in diagnostic evaluations and ensure that all procedures are conducted with the utmost safety and efficiency. Responsibilities Assist physicians during gastroenterology procedures, including endoscopies and colonoscopies. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort. Maintain clean technique to prevent infection during procedures. Conduct diagnostic evaluations using medical imaging equipment as directed. Document patient information accurately in medical records. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and reprocessed after use. Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide high-quality patient care. Skills Proficient in clean technique to maintain sterile and clean environments during procedures. Strong understanding of diagnostic evaluation processes and medical imaging techniques. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to gastroenterology. Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy, particularly related to the digestive system. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of gastroenterology services, contributing significantly to patient outcomes and overall healthcare quality.
