GI TECH/SPD
(Gastrointestinal Technician/Sterile Processing Department Specialist), where you will play a vital role in supporting endoscopic procedures and ensuring the sterile processing of surgical instruments. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with medical professionals, contribute to patient safety, and maintain the highest standards of aseptic technique. Your expertise in physiology, anatomy, and medical imaging will be essential in delivering exceptional care and operational excellence within our facility. Duties Prepare and sterilize endoscopic instruments and related equipment using aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Assist with the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of GI procedures, ensuring all tools are properly organized and functioning. Support physicians during gastrointestinal procedures by providing necessary instruments and ensuring optimal imaging quality. Conduct diagnostic evaluations by understanding anatomy and physiology to assist in accurate procedure execution. Maintain detailed records of sterilization processes, equipment maintenance, and procedural supplies for compliance and quality assurance. Monitor medical imaging devices during procedures to ensure clear visualization and proper functioning. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, including proper handling of contaminated instruments and materials. Qualifications Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to gastrointestinal procedures. Experience with aseptic techniques, sterilization processes, and infection prevention standards. Familiarity with medical imaging technology used in endoscopic procedures. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and support clinical decision-making through technical expertise. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and equipment management. Prior experience working in sterile processing or surgical support is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
