Responsibilities Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by explaining the process, ensuring proper positioning, and verifying consent. Set up, calibrate, and maintain endoscopic equipment with precision, adhering to strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Assist physicians during procedures by handling endoscopes and related instruments, ensuring smooth operation throughout the exam. Monitor patient vital signs and comfort levels during procedures, responding promptly to any changes or concerns. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, including technical details, observations, and imaging results for accurate medical records. Ensure all equipment is sterilized and stored correctly after use, following rigorous aseptic protocols to uphold safety standards. Collaborate with the medical team to facilitate diagnostic evaluations by understanding anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to gastroenterology. Experience Prior experience working in a healthcare setting supporting endoscopic or similar diagnostic procedures is preferred. Strong knowledge of gastroenterology principles, including anatomy and physiology of the gastrointestinal tract. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used during endoscopy procedures. Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control practices. Ability to interpret medical terminology accurately and communicate effectively with medical staff. Technical proficiency in handling endoscopy equipment and troubleshooting technical issues swiftly. A background in anatomy knowledge combined with diagnostic evaluation skills enhances your ability to support complex procedures efficiently.
