1 Description American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy Tech with 2+ years of endoscopy experience, BLS, and SGNA certification for a 13-week travel assignment at an academic medical center in Philadelphia, PA. Details 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, with occasional extended shifts if cases run over One late shift required per week (7:30 AM-6:00 PM) No weekend or holiday requirements Floating required between two campus locations approximately a 3-minute walk apart On-call may be required at the secondary location Traveler may be assigned to either a procedure room or scope room Procedures include colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, EUS, esophageal foreign body removal, CRE balloon dilations, and esophageal/duodenal/colonic stenting Equipment used includes endoscopes (colonoscopes, EGD, EUS, ERCP, enteroscopes, flex sigmoidoscopes), balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE instruments, fluoroscopy equipment (C-arm), polyp snares, forceps, and washers/sterilizers Specimen handling includes cytology, microbiology, pathology, mounted biopsies, and labeling Epic EMR used for charting (experience preferred) Both inpatient and outpatient endoscopy center settings Requirements Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy experience required Current BLS certification required SGNA certification preferred Epic EMR experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Trauma Level I or II experience preferred Valid state license or certification required — license required if applicable SSN and DOB required for consideration 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Copies of certifications required for consideration RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; RTO requests after submission will not be accepted PA Fingerprints required — results can take up to 2 weeks to process and cannot be pending at start Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Assist with procedural setup, biopsies, and physician support during GI procedures Responsibilities include room turnover, instrument processing and cleaning, scope care (including high-level disinfection), and restocking supplies Universal Protocol (time-out) procedure and infection control practices are expected A pass/fail clinical exam is required for clearance; candidates have up to 3 attempts, and a third failed attempt results in automatic cancellation Compliance labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and are subject to a local rate differential Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
