Full Job Description Job Summary:
As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care during GI endoscopic procedures, such as EGD's and colonscopies. Your responsibilities will include assisting medical staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients undergoing endoscopy.Responsibilities:
- Apply aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile field during procedures.
- Utilize your in-depth knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and physiology to support the medical team.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations by preparing and positioning patients for endoscopic procedures.
- Operate and maintain medical imaging equipment used during endoscopy.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation of procedures and patient information.
- Uphold patient safety standards by monitoring vital signs and responding to emergencies promptly.
- Demonstrate proficiency in handling endoscopic instruments and equipment with precision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate smooth workflow during procedures.
- Adhere to established protocols for infection control and patient confidentiality.
- Participate in continuous learning and training to stay updated on best practices in endoscopy technology.
Experience:
- Prior experience working as an Endoscopy Technician or in a similar healthcare role is a must.
- Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures and assisting physicians effectively.
- Familiarity with medical software for documenting patient records accurately.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Required Skills:
Aseptic technique, Anatomy knowledge, Diagnostic evaluation, Medical imaging, Medical terminology, Physiology knowledge. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
