Patient Care Technician - Endoscopy Center MD Anderson - 4.1 Houston, TX Job Details Full-time $38,000 - $57,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits AD&D insurance Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Pension plan Vision insurance Referral program Qualifications Customer communication Customer service High school diploma or GED Patient interaction Full Job Description Seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician to join MD Anderson's Endoscopy Center and play a key role in gastrointestinal (GI) cancer care. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in direct patient care. Must be organized, flexible, and demonstrate exceptional communication and customer service skills ensuring every interaction with patients, families, and coworkers reflects compassion and respect. CNA certification is preferred but not required. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 hours.

KEY FUNCTIONS
Partners with
Health Care Team:
Completion of routine or advanced patient care assignments as delegated. Escalate patient safety issues to charge nurse/ leadership team. Works with multidisciplinary team members to identify and address patient care needs. Participates in team and peer evaluations.
Supports Patients:
Aids in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge, and vital signs. Utilizes validated advanced skills to support multidisciplinary goals aimed at assisting patients in reaching maximum functionality. Assist in obtaining vital signs which include applying EKG leads and measuring oral temperature. Assist in entering patient information in Central Monitor and print EKG strips. Provide assistance during discharging/ transferring patients from PACU. Empty drains and Foley catheters. Remove peripheral
IV Work Environment and Systems Work Environment:
Maintains environment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Maintains unit and institutional competencies and adheres to legal and regulatory requirements. Participates in unit projects focused on improving patient outcomes. Successfully complete required on-line training. Demonstrate accountability by reviewing electronic/written communication from the Division of Nursing and
MD ACC. EDUCATION
