• Job Summary and Qualifications
• As an Endoscopy Technician, you'll play an important role in helping provide safe, effective procedures to patients undergoing GI and endoscopy procedures. Your careful work preparing equipment and maintaining a clean, well-organized environment will help protect patients and empower caregivers to deliver on our shared mission to improve more lives in more ways.
• Your responsibilities will include:
• + Preparing procedure rooms and endoscopy equipment, verifying equipment is in proper working order, and keeping supplies organized and stocked + Helping position and transport patients safely and comfortably while using proper body mechanics to protect both patients and yourself + Supporting physicians and nurses during procedures, including handling instruments, collecting specimens, and following proper safety practices + Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing endoscopy equipment, and keeping accurate records for quality and safety + Communicating with kindness and compassion to patients and families, keeping them informed, and supporting their privacy and comfort throughout their care •What qualifications you will need:•+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + 1 year of Endo Tech/OR Tech experience (required) + 1 year of High Level Disinfection(HLD)experience Established in 1974, Henrico Doctors' Hospital is a 340-bed community hospital offering cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, oncology, physical therapy, women's services and a 24/7 emergency department.
