Job Description

GI Technician Full Time Endoscopy ASC of Middle Georgia Endoscopy ASC of Middle Georgia is an Ambulatory Surgery Center in Macon, Georgia. We are seeking a motivated GI Procedure Room Technician to join our team. Ambulatory surgery centers (or outpatient surgery centers) are healthcare facilities where surgical procedures not requiring an overnight hospital stay are performed.
Position summary:
Under the general supervision of the Physician and a Registered Nurse, the GI Technician is responsible for providing assistance and set up on all gastroenterology procedures dependent on individual competence. This individual must have previous Gastroenterology Tech experience in an ASC or hospital setting. Delivers safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and according to center's policy and procedure. Efficiently and effectively assists physician with procedures. Anticipates physicians' needs both in preparing for procedure and during procedure. Reports the patient's planned outcomes to the Registered Nurse in a timely and appropriate manner. Demonstrates ability to respond to patient care and facility needs in an emergency situation. Initiates and implements basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as appropriate. Demonstrates knowledge of specific responsibilities in all emergency situations. Demonstrates ability to meet patient's and family's learning needs as identified in the plan of care. Demonstrates continued competence in treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective. Displays an understanding of each patient's cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturity in the assessments, treatment, and care undertaken. Appropriately modifies approach to the patient based upon patient age utilizing a developmental perspective. Provides appropriate interventions related to safety issues. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position. seeking at least one year of GI Technician experience preferred. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent GI Experience preferred Previous clinical experience in the GI Procedure room environment preferred Current certification in CPR or able to obtain prior to hire.
