This healing center integrates science based, proven alternative and natural therapies with the most effective and least harmful mainstream medicines to eradicate cancer in the body. The foundation of our program provides the nutrients and detoxification required for the body to restore optimal immune system function and to change the biochemistry of the body so that it stops making cancer. Job Summary:
The Movement Specialist is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and educational movement interventions to patients as part of An Oasis of Healing's integrative cancer care program. This role focuses on providing individualized and group-based movement sessions grounded in kinesiology, physiology, and sound body mechanics, with the goal of supporting physical resilience, functional capacity, and overall health restoration. The Movement Specialist works closely with patients who may have compromised functioning due to cancer, aging, or neurological conditions, tailoring programs to meet each individual's unique capabilities and therapeutic goals. This position requires a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology, a passion for movement as a healing modality, and the ability to educate, motivate, and inspire patients in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.Job description:
Responsibilities:
Provide education and personal movement sessions for each patient at least 2x a week Lead group movement classes and design effective program for patients Demonstrate a strong understanding of body mechanics and anatomy to ensure safe and effective sessionsSkills:
Personal development: Experience in developing personalized movement plans for individuals based on a patient's individual capabilities given their health compromises Physiology knowledge: Understanding of how the body responds to movement and the principles of the science of movement. Interest in and ongoing participation in research as to how movement facilitates physiological changes in the body required to heal from cancer. Understanding of muscle physiology and aging - in particular sarcopenia.Educate:
Ability to effectively communicate and educate patients on health concepts, movement techniques, and best practice Program design: Skill in designing comprehensive movement programs that target specific goals and address individual needs.Body mechanics:
Knowledge of proper body alignment, movement patterns, and posture during movement Anatomy knowledge: Understanding of the structure and function of the human body, particularly related to muscles, bones, and joints.Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, a strong passion for movement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
