As these strategies are aimed at reducing signs and symptoms of injuries, the expensive work comp or health care claim can be avoided, as well as the OSHA recordable. The injury prevention specialist will work 1:1 with the employee and utilize strategies such as soft tissue work, heat/ice, taping, education, and coaching in home and work tasks to reduce the soreness or discomfort. When used with a strong early reporting culture, this method of providing hands on care at work has proven to be a very effective strategy for keeping employees safe and healthy at work. The Injury Prevention Specialist performs a wide range of proactive prevention, early symptom intervention, case management, implementing wellness initiatives health education and health promotions, class instruction, supervision of any exercises on the floor to ensure the safety of participants and proper use of equipment, ergonomic program support working to increase the workforce's ability to perform their job duties safely and decrease the risk of injury Education Bachelors in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or another related field
  • Required Experience Six month's experience in exercise related field
  • Required License & Certification Professional Certification (ACSM)
  • Required Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Required Core Job Functions Assists clinical team with patient registration, biometric and lab result documentation, document management, and mail processing.
Performs fitness assessments, pulmonary function testing, hearing and vision screenings for contracted companies. Educates clients on fitness assessment and offsite screening results. Exercise prescription is developed, adjusted, and documented based on fitness test and recommendations from physician. Exercise plan and education are tailored to individual needs of the client. Explanation of expected and actual physiological response to exercise is provided and accurately recorded on appropriate forms.
