Overview:
Threat Management Group is searching for highly qualified candidates to support the Air National Guard (ANG) Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Human Performance Optimization (HPO) Program. This program provides agility and capacity to improve performance and extend the longevity of the "human weapon system," thereby increasing the operational readiness of Air Support Operations Groups (ASOG) and the TACP community. The
ANG TACP HPO
Program seeks to maintain the highest state of readiness throughout its units. This is achieved by integrating physical therapy, athletic training, and strength and conditioning services, which are critical for maintaining peak performance.
Candidates Requirements:
Must have 5+ years of full-time experience as a CSCS in collegiate (or higher), professional, or tactical athletics; aerospace industry, test pilot/astronaut or similar man-machine high-performance environment. Must have Master's degree or higher in Human Performance, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.
Must have certification for:
National Strength and Conditioning (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCa) Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC). Must have current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training. Must be able to obtain a favorable Tier 1 (T1) security/background investigation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and teach fitness skills to TACP with varying ability levels. Develop, design, and implement a cohesive and comprehensive programming approach. Provide each TACP member seeking prehab/prevention services an initial performance evaluation within one week of the request. Based on this evaluation, conduct a needs analysis to identify deficits, goals, and risk factors, and develop and implement a tailored training program that includes prehabilitation, performance training, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation. Build rapport with clients and motivate them to achieve higher levels of performance. Effectively teach various blocks of instruction related to health, fitness, and physical performance to TACP personnel, as requested by the COR. Meet with each Operator individually no less than semiannually to assess fitness and health, review Operator strength and conditioning goals. The meeting contents shall be documented and trends reported to unit leadership.(See 15.2.1.6) Deliver briefings, educational sessions, and seminars. Continue to research, gather data, and employ the most modern and supported best practices in the field of strength and conditioning, to include validated functional assessments. Maintain all professional credentials and certifications. Attend required continuing education to remain licensed per state or national agency requirements. Complete all unit/Government in-processing requirements and computer-based training as required by the Department of Defense, Air Force, newcomer's orientation, and other job specific trainings which could include simulations and other hands-on training opportunities/assessments. Assist with management of physical conditioning supply inventories. Provide input to organization regarding supply needs and optimal equipment. Perform administrative duties such as maintaining records of workload. May be required to document patient encounters using mandated Government systems in accordance with guidance and direction. The Government will provide system training, including security procedures, and the Contractor shall ensure personnel complete all training and maintain certifications to comply with applicable regulations, such as HIPAA and Privacy Act. Screen for factors that may impact physical performance and readiness. These assessments may include flexibility and mobility assessments, muscular strength and endurance assessments, cardiovascular fitness assessments, and body composition assessments, to inform individualized training programs. Implement neck and spine strengthening protocols designed to enhance physical capacity and durability for TACP. These protocols will be informed by performance assessments and consistent with best practices for strength and conditioning. Employ relevant technologies, including third-party fitness/nutrition apps, to support the training program and improve client performance. Advise unit commanders on matters related to injury strength and conditioning. Identify opportunities for improvement to include developing protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP) for S&C programs. Some travel may be expected. Typical working hours are 0700 to 1500 Monday through Friday, which may include occasional weekends, and holidays, to support the mission. This position is contingent upon contract award.
