SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, or related field (Master's preferred) Minimum 3 years' experience in tactical, military, law enforcement, or other high-risk occupational training environments Current NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Demonstrated expertise in: o Evidence-based physical training o Musculoskeletal injury prevention o Human performance optimization Strong communication and instructional skills, with the ability to: o Present to groups of trainees and staff o Translate complex performance and training concepts into clear, practical guidance Ability to operate independently within multidisciplinary teams (e.g., PT staff, nutritionists, medical providers, leadership) Must comply with all policies and directives Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or background checks Must be willing and able to work on-site full-time at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, NM TYPE OF WORK
The Exercise Physiologist / Strength and Conditioning Specialist provides expert human performance optimization support to academy leadership, physical training (PT) departments, instructors, and trainees in a high-tempo training environment. Program Delivery and Oversight Follow Government-issued predetermined lesson plans for PT sessions, or use professional expertise to assist in developing new lesson plans and curricula when gaps or emerging needs are identified In coordination with the appropriate staff, deliver and adapt evidence-based human performance training programs to support trainee readiness, resilience, and injury prevention o Any deviations from Government-issued programs, policies, or procedures must be cleared by the Contracting Officer's Representative in coordination with the program manager or designated official Conduct daily observations of PT classes to ensure adherence to approved curricula and standards, and provide feedback to instructors and leadership Deliver in-service training, using provided content, to PT instructors as directed Assist and provide guidance in designing, reviewing, and updating the Pre-Employment Physical Readiness Program (PRP) annually to reflect current best practices and operational requirements Assist in leading and coordinating Physical Training Instructor Qualification Courses, and support efforts to standardize instructor competencies across the academy Injury Surveillance and Prevention Assist with investigating musculoskeletal and environmental injuries, conducting root cause analyses, and providing evidence-based recommendations for risk mitigation Support injury trend analysis and programmatic risk reduction efforts, with a particular focus on high-risk trainees Collaborate with academy management and human performance staff to develop and implement corrective action plans Data Collection and Performance Metrics Collect, analyze, and report on fitness testing and performance data to support: o Evidence-based curriculum adjustments o Leadership decision-making related to training and human performance Track trainee performance trends and identify areas for targeted intervention or program enhancement Lead or assist in applied research projects aimed at advancing the health and human performance of trainees and frontline personnel, with emphasis on musculoskeletal and exertional injury prevention Assist and provide guidance on physical ability validation studies to help establish legally defensible fitness standards Collaboration and Communication Work closely with nutritionists, medical staff, and academy leadership to assist in delivering integrated health and wellness solutions Advise on the design, layout, and procurement of fitness training facilities and equipment Integrate emerging technologies (e.g., monitoring tools, testing systems) into workforce health strategies as directed by program officials Participate in academy-led musters, providing input and coordination for daily training services Communicate complex technical and scientific concepts in a clear, practical, and actionable manner for staff and trainees About Loyal Source Loyal Source provides healthcare and technology solutions designed to improve outcomes and support mission-critical operations.
