The Fitness Specialist is responsible for supporting members in achieving their health and fitness goals through exercise instruction, program design, and wellness education. This role provides direct supervision of fitness activities and ensures a safe and engaging environment.

Job requirements:

Conduct fitness assessments and develop individualized exercise programs Instruct members on proper use of fitness equipment and exercise techniques Monitor participant safety and provide immediate assistance when needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness areas Support group fitness classes and wellness programming Document member progress and maintain accurate records Promote member engagement and retention through positive interactions

Qualifications Skills/Knowledge:

Knowledge of exercise science, fitness programming, and safety standards Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to motivate and educate diverse populations Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling Understanding of health and wellness principles Able to communicate effectively and with engagement Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing Ability to follow written or verbal step-by-step instructions Ability to concentrate, think, and learn Ability to hear, see, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, push and pull

Qualifications/ Experience:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field (preferred) High school diploma or equivalent required 1-3 years of experience in a fitness or wellness setting preferred CPR/AED and First Aid certification (required) Nationally recognized fitness certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM) required
