  • Part-time, Full-time Overview Maze Medical Fitness Testing (MMFT) is seeking a passionate, evidence-driven Exercise Physiologist to join our growing medical fitness, longevity, and health optimization program.
This role combines exercise physiology, diagnostic testing, health coaching, research, and educational content development. The Exercise Physiologist will work closely with providers and leadership to support clinical testing, patient education, performance evaluation, and the development of evidence-based wellness initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for someone excited about the intersection of exercise science, metabolic health, longevity medicine, preventive care, and human performance. Key Responsibilities 1. Exercise & Metabolic Testing Conduct and oversee medical fitness testing, including: o VO₂ Max testing o DEXA body composition scans o Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) testing o Additional physiologic and performance assessments as services evolve. Prepare patients for testing appointments and explain testing procedures. Ensure proper calibration, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of testing equipment. Collect, interpret, and summarize testing data for providers and patients. Maintain accurate documentation and clinical testing records. 2. Patient Education & Health Coaching Meet one-on-one with patients to review: o Exercise habits o Activity levels o Body composition and metabolic data o Lifestyle and wellness goals Provide education regarding: o Exercise physiology o Cardiovascular fitness o Metabolic health o Body composition o Recovery, conditioning, and health optimization Help patients understand their results and identify opportunities for improvement. Support individualized wellness, exercise, and lifestyle recommendations under program guidelines. 3. Research & Clinical Support Conduct literature reviews and research related to: o Exercise science o Longevity medicine o Metabolic health o Cardiovascular performance o Body composition o Nutrition and recovery o Preventive and wellness medicine Stay informed on emerging research, trends, and evidence-based practices in medical fitness and human performance. Assist with development of protocols, clinical resources, testing methodologies, and educational initiatives. 4. Content Development & Educational Initiatives Research and help develop: o Blog articles o Website content o Educational materials o Patient resources o Wellness and performance-focused communications Translate scientific and clinical concepts into accessible, engaging content for patients and consumers. Support MMFT's mission of promoting evidence-based education surrounding fitness, metabolism, longevity, and preventive health. 5. Team Collaboration & Program Development Collaborate closely with providers, clinical leadership, operations, and marketing teams. Participate in clinical meetings, program development, and quality improvement initiatives. Contribute ideas related to patient experience, innovation, workflow optimization, and growth of MMFT services.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree required in: o Exercise Physiology o Exercise Science o Kinesiology o Human Performance o Physiology o Health Sciences or related field.
Preferred Certifications:
ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) preferred. Additional certifications in strength & conditioning, health coaching, or related disciplines are a plus.
Experience:
Experience conducting exercise, metabolic, physiologic, or performance testing strongly preferred. Experience working in medical fitness, wellness, preventive medicine, clinical, sports performance, or health optimization environments highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong understanding of exercise physiology, metabolism, cardiovascular fitness, and body composition science. Excellent communication and patient education skills. Strong writing, research, and analytical abilities. Passion for evidence-based wellness, longevity, and preventive health. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Working Conditions Fast-paced outpatient medical fitness environment. Work will primarily be based in Westchester with periodic NYC coverage as needed. Combination of patient-facing clinical work, diagnostic testing, research, and educational development.
