Job Description

As Fitness Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting Fitness assessments, creating exercise prescriptions, covering the exercise floor, maintaining equipment, enforcing policies, and running member incentive programs while ensuring top-notch customer service. This role requires someone who has strong communication skills, experience with fitness assessments and special populations, public speaking abilities, and the ability to work independently. A caregiver in this position works flexible hours with varying start and end times between the hours of 6:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Supervise and guide exercise activities in a safe, motivating environment Monitor participants during workouts to ensure proper technique and safety Deliver and assist with group fitness classes (as needed) Create and implement incentive programs to drive gym engagement and retention Personal train one on one or group training format working with a variety of client experience levels Perform front desk tasks including enrollments, payments, scheduling, and more. Potential to travel to other fitness locations as needed. Support departmental projects and additional duties as assigned Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Health Science, or related field Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or American Red Cross Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong understanding of exercise safety, program design, and goal setting Can engage and motivate individuals of diverse fitness levels Knowledge of health promotion and wellness programming Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 1 year experience in a fitness center environment ACSM, NASM, ACE or CSCS certification Background in program development, group fitness, or exercise testing
Physical Requirements:
Ability to maneuver, carry, lift, bend, stoop, swim, walk and sit for extended periods of time.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
