Job Description

Summary of Position Teaches courses related to exercise physiology, kinesiology, strength and conditioning, wellness, biomechanics, fitness assessment, and related areas within the discipline. Provides high-quality instruction in undergraduate exercise science courses and fosters student learning within a dynamic academic environment. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering course content, assessing student performance, maintaining timely communication with students and full-time faculty, and fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Course assignments will consist of different formats such as face-to-face, laboratory, or online formats depending on departmental needs. Position Information Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be remote or at various locations.
Primary Location:
Youngstown Qualifications and Competencies Required Certifications, Training, and/or
Licensures:
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification. Sponsorship and/or
Work Authorization Status:
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned master's degree in exercise physiology, exercise Science, kinesiology, human performance, sports medicine, athletic training, or in an equivalent related field from an accredited institution; c urrent Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification; m ust be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Nationally recognized professional certification in exercise science, strength and conditioning, or clinical exercise physiology.
Acceptable certifications may include:
ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP), NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), NASM Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT), ACE Certified Exercise Professional.
Physical Requirements:
In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary:
work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria aremet.
