Job Description

Lead Therapist DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly conducts the ASAM assessment and treatment plans of all clients in all modalities of treatment to make the appropriate level of care placement. Collaborates with Lead Therapist and Lead Counselor to determine continuum of care for program participants. Acts as the program's liaison with families and offers recommendations for program development and improvement. Attend meetings called by the Lead Therapist and participates in discussions concerning revision, improvement, and development strategy for creating effective treatment settings. Provides ongoing client assessment to identify changing needs pertaining to the individual's clinical treatment. Assist the clients in identifying and building on their strengths and resiliencies. Participates in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review activities and makes recommendations to the Lead Therapist or compliance team for plans of corrections. Attends assigned trainings, required staff meetings, and be responsible for continuing education and professional development as part of a commitment to provide quality services. Communicates effectively with other staff members regarding client behavior, progress, activities, etc. Exhibit knowledge and support of the philosophy and objectives of BRS Provide ongoing recovery support guidance in such areas as 12 steps, housing, vocational training, employment and other relevant community services. Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with agency policy and procedures and Federal laws. Encourage clients to develop independent behavior that is based on choice rather than compliance. Demonstrate consistency by supporting clients during ordinary and extraordinary times. Understand and abide by code of ethics and client rights. Engage in clinical supervision as arranged with the Supervising Therapist. Other duties as assigned by Lead Therapist and leadership team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a current and valid California license or associate license with the Board of Behavioral Science as an AMFT/LMFT, APCC/LPCC, or
ACSW/LCSW.
Possess knowledge of methods for appropriate clinical documentation in a treatment setting. Must have sound knowledge of addiction and recovery principles, communication skills and self expression. Must be able to act responsibly in an emergency situation. Must have current health and TB screening, current valid First Aid and CPR certification. Must be able to work with diverse groups of people.

Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
