Job Description

The clinician/therapist is responsible for providing direct mental health services and documentation to an assigned caseload, in accordance with Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health regulations. The Therapist provides assessment, treatment planning, care coordination, and individual mental health services. Therapist will serve to ensure the Mental Health quality of service delivery and maintain the highest standards of treatment and supervision provided to clients. The therapist is responsible for the development of the client treatment plan and the ongoing updating in accordance with Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health and contract standards. -Clinical Supervision is Provided by Clinical Director. Minimum Qualifications 1. Must possess a valid California License issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences in one of the following categories: LCSW, LMFT, PCC, or Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Registered Associate with the Board of Behavioral Sciences will be eligible for employment. 2. Proficient writing and communication skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, and ability to learn electronic health record systems. 3. Must meet all standards of employment in childcare established by California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing. 4. Experience in the provision of Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health Services, preferred 5. Experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents and/or working in residential settings is preferred. 6. Will successfully complete a DOJ Criminal Background Check, Drug Screen, and provide DMV record. Skills Needed to Perform the
Job:
Capacity to perform job duties in an emotionally stable manner. Ability to make mature and responsible decisions. Skill to complete administrative and management tasks and functions. Capacity to work with hard to serve, chronic mentally ill clients. Ability to work with a team and follow group decision making procedures. Skill to work in a self-directed manner within clearly delineated policies and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in spoken and written English. Able to master computer skills necessary for completion of required reports. Expertise to effectively diagnose children and adolescents. Skill to plan and implement effective treatment strategies for children and adolescents. Clinical Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provide individual specialty mental health services for each assigned client and family. 2. Complete client assessment, client treatment plan, treatment updates, discharge report; prepare and submit all documentation within required timeframes established by agency, contract, and licensing. 3. Develop effective discharge plan for clients and coordinate plan with county workers, agency, and team. 4. Participate in Child and Family team meetings, treatment planning meetings, treatment reviews and all other meetings and trainings as required. 5. Provide client crisis response and intervention as necessary. 6. Work effectively and cooperatively with assigned county representatives, psychiatrist and nurse for client medication reviews. 7. Complete documentation of mental health services provided the day the service was delivered. It is imperative that all required documents to be completed on time and to Medi-Cal standards. 8. Other duties as assigned by STRTP Administrator, Head of Service, and/or direct supervisor. 9. Strictly maintain client confidentiality. Be responsible for the maintenance and safety of all client records.
