The clinical therapist is responsible for providing admission assessments, treatment planning, individual and group therapy with clients, and educating clients, families, and others on the process of treatment and mental health recovery. This individual will have a caseload assigned to them and must have competency in delivering services and treatments based on recovery-oriented principles, family systems, and evidenced based treatments. The clinical therapist will motivate clients to actively participate in their own recovery and treatment process, assisting them with learning new skills, gaining knowledge, and empowering them to improve their lives. Duties
  • Perform admission assessments of clients;
  • Participate in the development of treatment plans, initial assessments and discharge plans;
  • Provide direct clinical services, which may include individual and group therapy, family counseling, crisis intervention, facilitating education and support groups, and providing linkages with community resources to clients, families, and staff as indicated by admission assessments and treatment plans;
  • Diagnose and/or collaborate in the formulation of diagnoses of clients;
  • Maintain a positive, effective, and professional relationship with clients, staff, physicians, family members and visitors;
  • Maintain professional boundaries at all times;
  • Collect information about clients, using techniques such as assessments, tests, interviews, discussions, and observations;
  • Provide accurate, concise, and timely Progress Notes, treatment records, and reports for clients in caseload
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of client care, including records relating to client's treatment, except when reporting is required pursuant to applicable policies, procedures, regulations and/or statutes;
  • Knowledge of child, elder, and dependent adult abuse and domestic violence reporting requirements pursuant to applicable regulations and/or statutes;
  • Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments;
  • Attend Treatment Team Staff meetings;
  • Attend Clinical Supervision (if applicable);
  • Clinical Supervision of Mental Health Technicians;
  • Ongoing evaluation of clients' physical and mental condition based on client reviews;
  • Communicate with family members to assist them in understanding, coping with, and supporting clients' treatment and mental health recovery, when family members are available for in-person sessions;
  • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients' treatment plan;
  • Ensure that treatment plan/needs and services plan goals are developed with the client and are time limited, observable, measurable, and achievable.
  • Behave in an ethical manner per program's policies and procedures, professional ethical standards/guidelines, and applicable regulations and statutes;
  • Perform duties in a self-directed manner; Qualifications
  • Possession of an active and current license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and/or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor OR Possession of an active and current registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Clinical Social Worker, and/or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor.
Active and current registration shall have no history of disciplinary actions.]
  • Education in marriage, family, and child counseling, marriage and family therapy, couple and family therapy, social work, psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, DBT, or either counseling or clinical mental health counseling preferred.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance. Hiring is contingent upon receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption, a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508), a TB test, and clearance on an employment physical.
